Dear Mead High School Community,
The highlight of this week was the all school musical, Mamma Mia! We had over 115 students helping put on this incredible broadway show. The show ran from April 9th – 12th. The auditorium was filled every night and the energy from the crowd kept our performers and crew members going. This show would not have been possible without the overwhelming support from our parents and community sponsors who donated food, time, materials, and other resources. We are so lucky to have such amazing community support that helps make our performing arts programs so successful. I hope everyone was able to go out and see the show.
Next week our students will be participating in their state assessments. All 11th grade students will take the SAT on April 15th. Our 9th and 10th graders will take the PSAT on April 16. 11th grade will also take the Science CMAS test on Friday, April 18 while everyone else has a regular day of school. The SAT and PSAT are significant assessments that help measure student learning and academic growth. These exams also play a crucial role in postsecondary planning, as SAT scores are widely used in college admissions, and both tests provide access to valuable scholarship opportunities. Our teachers have worked all year teaching students how to think, problem solve, and use their resources to answer high level questions. We are confident our students will do well on these assessments. If you have any questions about our state assessments, please reach out to Lindsey Chastain, our School Assessment Coordinator. We know our students are ready.
There will be many other big events going on next week. Tuesday is the first day of the SVVSD Art Show. The event will be held at the Boulder County Fairgrounds through Friday. Once again, Mead will have a wide variety of pieces on display representing many different students. We will also have our usual schedule of spring sports going on with all teams competing. The weather is nice so come on out and cheer on the Mavericks.
Seniors, graduation is 43 days away. If you are looking for information on important dates and deadlines be sure to visit the Senior Corner on our school website.
Thanks for supporting Mead HS. Together #WeAreMead
Sincerely,
Brian Young
