Naviance and ICAP

Mead HS students will use Naviance for College and Career Planning, searching for scholarships and completing their Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP). Each student has their own individual account on Naviance, which can be accessed by using their district assigned username and password.

College and Career Planning

Students can use Naviance to begin researching colleges and exploring careers. Students can take virtual tours of colleges and watch thousands of career videos as they begin to explore what they want to do when they graduate. Additionally, Naviance has a number of career assessments that provide students with lists of careers that match their interests, personality, strengths and learning style.

College

  • Research colleges and create college lists
  • Use the College search features to narrow your search parameters
  • Track college applications and deadlines
  • Request transcripts
  • Send invites to teachers you’ve asked to write a letter of recommendation, so they can upload it to Naviance
  • Sign up for college visits at Mead HS
  • Search and apply for scholarships

Career

  • Explore hundreds of careers opportunities
  • Research careers by education needed, wages and employment outlook
  • Complete career assessments to identify how your interests, abilities, strengths and personality match possible career options
  • RoadTrip Nation – Over 8,500 short career videos students can watch
  • Create a professional resume using the Resume Builder feature

ICAP – Individual Career and Academic Plan

ICAPs include a combination of factors: class selection; post-secondary career planning; college and career readiness; goal setting, resume building and individual meetings with counselor/student. Below are some of the required ICAP activities (graduation requirements), however other required activities will be assigned by Mead High School. Most ICAP requirements and activities will be completed during MAV20.
