Principal’s Update

May 31, 2022

Dear Mead High School Community,

What and amazing finish to our school year. We had an amazing graduation ceremony on May 28th. I am so proud of the 236 graduates who earned their diplomas on Saturday. Given St. Vrain has some of the most rigorous graduation requirements in the state, it is safe to say that our graduates are prepared for their next adventures. Over 74% of our graduates have plans to continue their education or training at a university, college, trade school or in the military. This bodes well for their individual futures and the future of our country. I am very appreciative of the many teachers, parents, and community members who helped our graduates get to this point. Congrats Class of 2022!

As we look forward to next year, we have many exciting things happening. We will have many new staff members joining our team next year due to growth and replacement of staff who are retiring or moving on. We are going to shift our advisory program to once a week for a longer period of time instead of five times a week. This will allow more class time for our regular classes and the longer advisory period allows us to do more in depth work around career planning, academic success, social-emotional learning, and school culture. Finally, we will continue our focus on supporting the needs of each and every student. We look forward to partnering with you next year. School starts on Aug. 17th for 9th grade and Aug. 18th for all students.

Thank you again for your support. #WeAreMead
