Dear Mead Families,
We started our morning today with a heartfelt moment of silence to mark the anniversary of 9/11. Together, we honored the lives lost, remembered the brave sacrifices made, and reflected on the strength and unity that bring us together as a community.
It has been a busy and inspiring 4-day week across our classrooms and athletic fields, with our students continuing to show up, work hard, and make us proud every single day.
Huge congratulations to both softball and volleyball teams on securing big wins this week! Boys soccer battled through an incredible, competitive game against Severance that ended in a hard-fought tie. Cross Country is competing in their meet today at the Flyin’ Ryan Invitational in Greelye. Best of luck to our runners! Football is heading south to Lutheran today for an exciting matchup at 7 PM. Boys gold will be hosting a match on Monday, September 14, at Twin Peaks starting at 9:00 AM. Come out and support!
Many of our classes are wrapping up their very first academic units of the school year. Our teachers are actively designing lessons that appropriately challenge every learner and increase cognitive load across all subjects. It has been inspiring to walk the hallways and see high levels of student collaboration, critical thinking, and active engagement in every classroom.
This week we hosted our annual Club Rush during advisory, where students explored our wide variety of co-curricular and non-curricular clubs. Research consistently shows that students who stay involved perform better academically and feel a stronger sense of belonging. Our goal is 100% participation and we want every single student involved in at least one club, sport, or activity this year. Please talk with your student this weekend about what caught their interest!
We are thrilled to participate in Mead Community Days this weekend! Please make sure to stop by the St. Vrain booth to say hello and celebrate our community together.
Thank you for your continued support of your student(s) and for being an essential part of the Maverick Family. Have a wonderful weekend.
Warm regards,
Lindsay LaPorte
