Dear MHS Families,
Our students continue to thrive both academically and in their extracurricular activities here at Mead High School. This week, I had the pleasure of attending our first musical performance of the year. Our Choir students showcased their hard work and sounded fantastic. A special thank you goes to the staff who made the concert a success: Rikelle Berry, Gideon Matchey, Kelly Baxter, Angela Reeder, and our Custodial Team, led by Sasha Coleman and Devin Fischer.
Our fall sports programs are also in full swing, with students competing at a high level and having fun along the way. At many of these events, you’ll also find other student groups contributing to school spirit and community pride. Shout out to our cheerleaders and dance team, our Mav Broadcast crew, our Future Business Leaders of America, our National Art Honor Society, and our Color Guard, alongside all of our student-athletes who have been actively representing MHS this semester.
A special shout out to our Boy’s Golf Team. Three of our seniors have qualified for the state tournament which takes place next week!
We’ll end this week on a high note with our home football game versus Holy Family, followed by our Cross Country Team hosting the Mead Stampede meet here on campus on Saturday, October 4th.
Here are a few reminders for next week:
- Parent/Teacher Conferences: Conferences will be held on October 7th and 8th. Sign-up links have been emailed to parents.
- Testing: On Wednesday, October 8, 9th and 10th graders will take the PSAT, while 11th-graders will take the NMSQT. Buses will leave at 11:00 a.m. (regular testing time) and 12:00 p.m. (extended time).
- No School: There will be no school on Friday, October 10, and Monday, October 13.
Have a fantastic weekend!
