Academic:

Mead High School was recognized by Newsweek as one of the top high schools in Colorado and in the Nation.

Class of 2022 had 236 Graduates and with a 93.3% Graduation Rate. 

74% of the graduates have plans to continue their learning at a university, college or trade school. 

8 of our graduates have plans of serving our country in one of the armed forces. 

Mead High School graduates earned over $1.5 million in scholarships.

Mead high administered over 390 AP exams this spring.

22 Honor Graduates who earned a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 or greater throughout the past four years. 

18 seniors are graduating with a designation of AP Excellence.  Each of these students has successfully completed a minimum of 6 AP courses in their tenure at Mead High School, and many of these students are candidates for the AP Capstone Diploma.  

15 graduates of the senior class are members of the National Technical Honor Society which recognizes outstanding student achievement in one of the 108 career and technical educational fields. 

13 seniors at Mead High School earned the prestigious Seal of Biliteracy.  These students can read, speak, listen and write at a high level in English as well as another language. In order to earn the Seal of Biliteracy, students must demonstrate their mastery of both English and another world language.

Thanks to the hard work of our students, teachers, and parents, our students successfully completed 96.5% of their classes this past semester. 

284 students earned their academic letter by earning a 3.75 GPA or higher in the second semester. 

Mead’s Energy Academy hosts Science Fair and Capstone night in partnership with our 8 industry partners.

Fine Arts:

School musical “Suessical” had four amazing performances. This broadway production was put together by amazing students in the pit orchestra, stage technicians, and performers. 

Orchestra has many successful concerts under new director Holli Young. Orchestra earns an Excellent rating at CHSAA Competition. 

Band continues to put on many amazing concerts and performances. Band earns high honors at CHSAA competition. DJ Vicente is named to the All State Jazz Band. Band performs and works with bands from UNC and CSU. 

Chad Lemons receives grant for music technology resources

Choir has two wonderful concerts in the second semester. 4 Students make All State Choir. Choir competes at CHSAA competition and earns high ratings. 

Athletics (Winter and Spring)

Boys Basketball makes the Elite 8

Girls Basketball makes the final 4 for the first time in school history

6 Wrestlers from the boys team qualify for the State Tournament and 3 wrestlers place in state. 

5 Wrestlers from the girls team qualify for the State Tournament and 2 wrestlers place in state. 

Jenna Joseph is the first ever Girls Wrestling State Champion in SVVSD. 

Unified Basketball, track, and percussion were all great successes.

Mead HS has Unified athletes showcased at both the State Wrestling Tournament and State Track Meet

Unified Athletes compete at the SVVSD Day of Champions. 

MHS Unified Percussion students help run a station during Day of Champions.

Track and Field qualifies 14 for state. 

Girls Soccer has the best season in school history with a 11-3-1 record 

Girls Golf sends 2 to the state tournament. Timbre Shehee finished 3rd overall

Three Mead students helped the Silver Creek boys swim team to a 2nd place finish at state with one swimmer finishing 2nd and 3rd in his individual events.
