Think back to when you were a student, back-to-school shopping, finding your classroom, and the exciting lessons that would soon fill your day. The first day of school jitters that were calmed by the friendly, welcoming face, and celebrating the “ah ha” moments when you finally figured out how to solve the problem. Then there was the time in kindergarten, when you went to the restroom but couldn’t remember the way back to your classroom. As panic set in, that friendly face walked around the corner and they knew exactly where your classroom was.
The Colorado Department of Education has identified Wednesday, October 5 as the official statewide October Count Day for the 2016-2017 school year. To comply with this state mandate and ensure maximum attendance, St. Vrain Valley Schools will have a full day of school with a normal start time on Wednesday, October 5 in place of the previously scheduled late start day.
Mead High School’s Posse is a Freshman transition program based on the Link Crew Concept. Student Posse Leaders from the Junior and Senior classes mentor incoming Freshmen beginning on the first day of school. Posse Leaders continue to interact with their Freshmen Posse group throughout the school year, helping them connect to the people and the programs that make Mead High School great.
Registration will be held at Mead High School on August 9th. You can expect to pay outstanding fees, acquire parking passes (these will cost $5 this year), turn in paperwork, get information, register for athletics, enroll in the Mead Boosters and the Mead Education Foundation, and purchase athletic passes.
