Superintendent's Update - August 2017

The start of a new academic year is one of my favorite times to visit our schools and talk with our students, families, teachers and staff. Our hallways are filled with a palpable optimism and drive to continue our momentum toward the highest levels of academic growth and success.

MHS Traffic Information

Construction on the parking lot at Mead HS is causing some small changes in drop off routes and pick up routes for parents and students.  Please consult the diagram to understand how these changes will affect your normal routine.  You may enter or exit using the orange route or the green route.  There is no longer a route that cuts across the parking lot over to the road in front of the tennis courts.

The Maverick Corral (Registration) August 7-9th

The Maverick Corral (Registration) will be held at Mead High School on August 7-9th. You can expect to pay outstanding fees, acquire parking passes (these will cost $5 this year), turn in paperwork, get information, register for athletics, support the Mead Boosters and the Mead Education Foundation, purchase athletic passes, pick up student iPads, and take student pictures.

2017 Eclipse Safety and Parent Information

Eclipse Safety Checklist

It’s not the eclipse that is dangerous to observe, it’s the sun! The sun’s visible (and invisible) rays can cause serious damage to the sensitive tissues of the eyes, often without being immediately aware of it. Normally, our common sense protects us from looking directly at the sun for more than a second.
