Vision Statement

Mead High School graduates will communicate and collaborate as global citizens who leverage knowledge to identify and solve the problems of future generations


Mead High School is a new, state-of-the-­art 21st century rural high school overlooking the majestic Rocky Mountains. In its seventh year of existence, it has established a culture of care and collaboration between students, faculty and community. Students are engaged in a variety of activities that ignite their passion for academic and personal excellence. Our Faculty is highly involved with the success of each student and is supported by energized and involved parents.

School and Curriculum

Mead High School is a comprehensive, four-­year public high school. The school’s total enrollment in grades 9-­12 is 1065 and the size of the 2016-­2017 senior class is 216. The school year consists of two semesters and all classes meet for 85 minutes on an alternating A-­B block schedule. Electives are offered in fine arts, business, technology, family and consumer science and physical education. Mead High School offers 15 AP courses across multiple subject areas such as: English Language & Composition, English Literature, Calculus AB, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics 1, Physics 2, Environmental Science, U.S. History, US Government, Comparative Government, Human Geography, Micro Economics, Macro Economics, Music Theory, Semina, Computer Science Principles, Studio Art 2D, Studio Art 3D and Psychology. 75% of the 2015 graduating class enrolled in a 2-­year or 4-year college. 55% enrolled in a 4-­year college and 23% enrolled in a 2-­year college.

Concurrent Enrollment Program

Juniors and seniors at Mead High School are eligible to participate in our Concurrent Enrollment Program, which affords them the opportunity to take up to 2 college classes each semester through Front Range Community College and Aims Community College. College instructors from Front Range and Aims Community College come to Mead High School to teach these classes. Students receive both high school and college credit for these courses.

Energy Academy at Mead High School

The Mead High School Energy Academy is a unique program that offers a secondary public education devoted to the principles of energy. The Mead Energy Academy will require core courses of all students while offering a choice between academic college-­bound course work and practical workforce-­ready course work. Cross-­curricular courses in math, science, social studies, language arts, business and more are taught to support the energy focus. The Mead Energy Academy will prepare students for college studies, technical education certification programs and the workforce by studying the following energy industries: wind, oil & gas, coal, geothermal, solar, nuclear, hydro-­electric and conservation.
