This session will focus on general information about Mead High School and the opportunities it provides students in the St. Vrain Valley Schools. We will start with a presentation by the administration in the auditorium at 6:00 pm, followed by student led tours to informational gatherings about the Energy Academy, our AP Capstone Diploma opportunity, Advisory and Advance Placement programming and athletics. We will wrap up the evening with a program fair in the commons. You will be able to ask specific questions of students, teachers and sponsors around club opportunities, elective options, technology, etc.
Find information on other St. Vrain Valley School’s Open House opportunities here.
Mead High School will be accepting open enrollment applications for the 2018-2019 school year for all grade levels. The window for new students wishing to open enroll begins on December 1st and ends January 16th. Typically this is when the bulk of open enrollment occurs; however, schools can continue to receive applications after the January 16th date.
If your child is already attending MHS (9th-11th in 2017-2018), you DO NOT have to submit another open enrollment form. Your child is automatically accepted.
Siblings of students who have been granted open enrollment status will be approved for open enrollment, as long as the sibling will have concurrent enrollment at Mead High School for the 2018-2019 school year.
Just because your student was accepted for open enrollment at the middle school DOES NOT mean they will automatically be accepted by Mead High School. You will need to repeat the open enrollment process at Mead High if wish for your child to attend here as a 9th grader.
All enrollment forms must be hand delivered to Andi Felton, Mead High Registrar; forms will not be accepted by mail or electronic submission. Students applying for open enrollment will be placed on a list in the order in which their application is handed in. Priority will be given in this order: 1. Teacher/Staff children 2. Concurrent siblings 3. Feeders 4. SVVS students 5. Out of district students.
Families will be notified by February 7th as to acceptance.
Open enrollment formscan be found in English here, and in Spanish here.
The Mead High School counseling department will go through the registration process with you, highlighting both a broad approach for High School planning and a narrow view of the upcoming freshman year.
You will be able to sign up or express interest in clubs, athletic interests, and ask questions about any of our special programs. Hope to see you there!
We would like to encourage current 8th graders who will be attending Mead High School in the fall of 2018 to come experience a few hours on the high school schedule.
Transportation from Coal Ridge Middle School and Mead Middle School will be provided. We encourage other middle school students who have enrolled at Mead High School to come on this day as well. This is a fun 1.5 hour excursion into high school life led by high school tour leaders.
